About

Abraham’s Seed is a blog dedicated to exploring the full inheritance which Christ, the Seed of Abraham, has purchased for his Church, within the context of the historic Baptist faith. The Abraham’s Seed blog stands for the gospel of grace, Sola Scriptura, the Protestant doctrine of Justification, and the Christo-centric hermeneutic.

May God be glorified and may the grace of Jesus Christ be magnified.

SOLI DEO GLORIA

“Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham…Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ…There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
Gal 3:7-9,16,28-29 (KJV)

The Seed of the Woman

[God said] …I will put enmity between thee [SATAN] and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; He shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise His heel.
Gen 3:15 (KJV)

Abraham’s Seed

Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land:
Gen 12:1-3,7 (KJV)

And the LORD said unto Abram…For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.
Gen 13:14-15 (KJV)

And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed; And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
Gen 28:13-14 (KJV)

David’s Seed

Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime..I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.
2 Sam 7:10-13 (KJV)

The Seed of Abraham and David

…Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham
Matt 1:1 (KJV)

Abraham’s Seed

Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days. Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.
Acts 3:24-26 (KJV)

David’s Seed

And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave their testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will. Of this man’s seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus
Acts 13:22-23 (KJV)

Abraham’s Seed

Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? …For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect…Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all…
Romans 4:9-16 (KJV)

For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
Heb 2:15-16

  1. Very nice web site! Great gathering of resources! I was especially glad to see the links for Keach’s Cathechism, and the Carter Lane Declaration. Keep up the good work!

      • Looks like I missed your question over 3 years ago! I was full-time with the PA Army National Guard at that time (MAY 2010), but I retired that August.

      • I had a 16+ year break, and at one time was known as
“The King of the Civilian Breaks”. That lasted until I met SGT King who actually had a 20 year break. It seems that is common with Vietnam veterans. I got back in at age 39 and only left when forced out at age 60 with almost 25 years. I could never have imagined it ending this way when I got off active duty in 1973! My advice to you is to keep at it. The retirement is good.

  2. Andrew,

I just noticed from your blog roll that you have linked to my blog “A Particular Baptist Blog”.

Not sure when you linked. I didn’t get a message from WordPress. Not sure if it’s because you dropped the “A” or not. Either way, I appreciate you linking to my blog!

    I’m certainly enjoying “Abraham’s Seed”.

God bless you and keep up the good work.

    Solus Christus!

  3. I just stumbled upon your site. I love it! It’s full of biblically sound, historical, and Baptist materials. It’s like Schaff’s Creeds of Christendom, but with a particular focus on Baptist history and theology. Thanks for the witness you’re making on the web. Keep up the work.

    Grace and peace,
    Drew
