The Church A Body Composed of The Redeemed of All Ages

Pastor ‘JasonS’ of the Pastoral Musings blog has a nice piece today on The Church. This work is a nice antidote to some of the Landmarkism found in may Independant Baptist churches today. The post may be found HERE.

Part of Pastor Jason’s conclusion reads,

Baptist identity should still be important to us. We simply should not find our identity in a supposed linked-chain succession of baptisms that go back to John. Neither should we find our identity in a supposed kinship to Christians who held Baptistic doctrines through the ages. Our identity should be found in Christ and in faithful obedience to His Word. That in itself is so unusual today that those who faithfully follow Jesus will certainly stand out from the crowd.
